“Vinyasa Flow yoga can be practiced in a vigorous, dynamic and stimulating manner and also as a soft, gentle, restorative practice.”-Ganga White

What you’ll experience in a Vinyasa Flow Class

This practice is very versatile and can be adapted to your individual needs. The typical Flow class will include Sun Salutations A and B. This sequence consists of 12 postures, and is the ideal warm-up for the postures to come. You will also have the opportunity to practice postures from each family of poses, such as the warrior variations, single-leg balancing, core-strengthening planks, backbends, hip-openers, twists, arm balances, and inversions. Ujjayi is the breathing technique focused on, it is done by inhaling and exhaling in a rhythmic manner through your nose. Please keep in mind, we are not “throwing our bodies around” but are linking it to the rhythm of our breath. We seek steadiness, comfort, and smooth, long breaths during every pose. The goal is a practice that’s fluid and fun, but at the same time, safe and sustainable.
