Yin-yasa Yoga

Yin-yasa Yoga is a gently challenging yoga practice that incorporates aspects of vinyasa yoga and yin yoga in a warm, but not hot room. Yin-yasa yoga begins with modified sun salutations, balancing postures and seated poses with special emphasis placed on moving into and out of postures safely, using correct alignment and synchronizing breath and movement. The second half of the Yin-yasa Yoga class is the yin portion which includes seated and reclining postures that safely stretch the connective tissues and open the joints. The yin yoga postures are typically held from three to ten minutes and utilize props, bolsters, blankets, straps and sandbags to create a calming and meditative experience.
