Our 2018  Yoga, Surf, Personal Development Retreat was a huge success!  

Highlights

During the course of the retreat we had a great mix of activities including daily yoga and meditation, surfing, a zip line tour, healthy and delicious local food, and personal growth sessions. We explored new places and experienced a different culture, and had plenty of relaxation and poolside time!

Nosara, Costa Rica provided the perfect backdrop for our group to unwind and drop into a deeply healing and energetically positive experience. The retreat provided a comfortable environment for us to share personal strengths, areas for growth, and dreams and goals for the future. Our intentionally led personal development sessions facilitated insightful feedback and meaningful dialogue, while journaling and individual time allowed for processing and an opportunity for self-reflection. Through shared experience, laughter, showing openness and vulnerability, our group quickly grew into a beautiful retreat family.

We are happy to announce that Juniper Midtown Yoga will be offering 2 yoga retreats during winter/spring 2019:

Our second annual Love the Life You Live, Live the Life you Love: Yoga, Surf, Personal Development Retreat will be held during the week of spring break Saturday, March 23 – Saturday, March 30, 2019 in Nosara, Costa Rica.

Throughout this all-inclusive retreat, you’ll experience daily meditation and yoga classes, surf lessons, guided personal development sessions, and plenty of time to take in the amazing nature around you. Together we’ll share delicious locally prepared meals, relax by the pool, enjoy incredible sunsets, and collaborate to create a supportive and empowering environment.

We will also be offering a Forever Student: Continuing Education Yoga Retreat specifically for yoga teachers. This retreat will be held Saturday, March 2nd – Saturday, March 9, 2019 also in Nosara, Costa Rica.

This retreat will focus on deepening and expanding your impact and knowledge as a teacher and includes 30 hours of continuing education (CE) credit. This will be an amazing opportunity to practice and learn with a community of other teachers while enjoying the adventure activities, relaxation and personal development benefits of the retreat experience. Attendees must have completed at minimum a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training prior to the retreat.

Meet Your Retreat Leaders

NICOLE RAINEY

Nicole dedicated herself to the practice of yoga in 2002. The immediate appeal was the community, the physical challenge, and the yogic lifestyle. In 2003, Nicole attended the intensive 500-hour Bikram Yoga Training in L.A. Early 2006, the practice of Bhakti Yoga, with teachers Shaelah Morris and Rusty Wells, aided in the shift towards a more devotional and spiritual practice. Nicole became a licensed massage therapist in 2006, specializing in Deep Tissue, Thai Yoga and Craniosacral Therapy. As the owner, and operator of Midtown Juniper Yoga, her love for community building has, and will continue to grow. Nicole will be our primary yoga and meditation instructor during the retreat.

ALLAN CAPP

 

Allan’s passion for adventure and curiosity of what is possible in life started at an early age. A-jack- of-all- trades, Allan feels most alive while pushing limits through adventure and connecting with the natural world. He has spent more than a decade as a professional adventure guide and facilitator, leading backcountry expeditions and adventure activities including surfing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting. Allan loves travel and has spent years surfing throughout Latin America, including multiple seasons in Nosara, our retreat destination. Through his own yoga and meditation practice, Allan continues to discover personal healing, increased strength and flexibility, improved performance as an athlete, and deeper connection to himself. As yoga teacher, Allan strives to empower his students to realize their own potential, and encourages a lifelong practice that supports long term mobility and ability to follow one’s passions. Allan will be our primary surf instructor and all-around guide.

MARA MUELLER

Mara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a yoga teacher, adventurer, and compassionate and intuitive healer. She holds advanced training in various therapeutic modalities including EMDR (a trauma focused therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Substance Abuse and Addictions Counseling, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Mara has spent the majority of her professional career working with people to identify their unique passions and skills, and to overcome emotional, physical and spiritual barriers. She most enjoys guiding groups and individuals toward living a more authentic life that is in alignment with their values, innate skills and wisdom. Mara is passionate about travel, and also loves surfing, dance, mountain biking, diving, and of course, spending time on her yoga mat! Mara will be leading our personal development sessions.
